Lights on Horseshoe

Things are moving along fast.  There is actually “light” at the end of the tunnel in this year journey to the lights.  We are about 80% of the way set up, with nearly 75% connected and tested.  With this week weather outlook, we should be rock solid by Saturday. Dec 3rd.  Be sure to look for lots of new features we have added, including an Arch over the driveway with musical instruments synchronized to the music.  We also were able to budget an lift to be able to wrap our larger trees in the front yard for the first time all the way to the top.  Each tree alone is pulling over 10-12 amps for each color.

Things are moving along.  Great day Saturday with the Fund Raising event for Routes of Hope (this years donation drive for lights). Nearly 20,000 dollars raised so far.   House is exactly 1/4 of the way decorated.  Just a few more thousand lights left to go on it, than on to wrapping 10,000 in the trees.  Puts the light count on property as of today at just under 10,000.  Weather seems to be going to hold nice for another week, so another big push will be happening this week.

Just tallied up the up to date lights…..just over 3000 up, only another 47,000 to go

Good news, 3 songs complete, 3 more are nearly complete for season.  This years show should run about 20 minutes if all goes as planned.

Not a bad weekend, lots of new projects coming to a close finally.

Here you can see one of the new 27 channel controllers that will be powering all my lights around the windows of the house.  Just doing some finale measuring for a custom box to house the power supply and control board.

Also was able to complete several wire harnesses for new display this year.

Also, a custom 75 foot DMX wire that will go from my show computer in the basement, to the first DMX universal control box.  It is made from specially shielded 18g wire that also converts the signal from 5 pin Enttec  adapter to the standard 3 pin XLR plug.  It is HIGHLY recommended after weeks of testing, do NOT use standard Cat5 wire for this application.  The Enttec DMX world is very prone to errors with using sub-par cables.  ANY noise will cause the show to crash.
